Homeopathic Treatment for Kennel Cough
Drosera 9CH: Very good for the typical dry hacking cough. Probably the primary remedy.
Aconite 6C: A very early remedy to give when the first signs appear. Usually good when the pet seems well and within hours becomes ill...very quickly. If given in time, it can abort the whole infection. Excellent for calming the pet.
Spongia Tosta 6C: Drier, more hoarse, barking cough. Similar to the 'trained seal' sound people get.
Phosphorus 30C: Dry cough with flecks of blood in it...this may be leading to pneumonia. Increase their Pet Immune and Horehound.
Bryonia 30C: Dry cough with obvious pain. Cough may have moved deeper into the lungs. Dog feels better if you hold its rib cage while it coughs as the intercostal muscles (between the ribs) are very tender from the coughing.

FIGHTING DISEASE OF THE IMMUNE SYSTEM
BETA GLUCAN
FIGHTING DISEASE OF THE IMMUNE SYSTEM
AMBROTOSE...RESEARCH, STATISTICS..PROVE ITS NOT AS GOOD AS OUR BETA GOLD!
Beta 1,3-D gulcan works by activating the immune cells known as macrophages. These macrophages trap and consume foreign substances in the body. Dr. Joyce K. Czop, M.D. at the Department of Rheumatology and Immunology at Harvard Medical School states, 'A cascade of interactions and reactions initiated by the macrophage regulatory factors can be envisioned to occur and to eventuate in conversion of the glucan treated host to an arsenal of defense.'
Another function of glucan, very important to my clinic, is its ability to act as a strong antioxidant or free radical scavenger. I have a very large clientele of mercury toxic patients and work closely with amalgam-free dentists. Mercury and other heavy metals are free radical producers, initiating a cascade of tissue destruction and impaired function. In retraining the patient's detoxification mechanisms, one component which has to be addressed is liver phase I detoxification. This process needs vast amounts of antioxidant and glucans can help to provide that, along with the other factors I have the patients take in their protocol. See Mercury Detoxification page
History and How Glucans Works
A substance called Zymosan was discovered in the late 1940’s. Research showed that this product had several ways showing it fighting disease of the immune systme and activating immune properties. These properties were researched one by one until the 1960’s when Nicholas DiLuzio of Tulane University began experimenting with Beta 1,3-D Glucan. The glucan was discovered to be responsible for the immune activating response. Then, Beta 1,3-D glucan was introduced to human subjects in the 1970’s.

Antioxidants-prevention against aging...learn to see the myths and aging
Antioxidants - Prevention Against Aging!
"Advanced Glycation Endproducts, or 'AGEs' as they're appropriately called, are the end result of the complex chemical process through which the structure of proteins is warped by exposure to sugars or by other, much more reactive molecules.
AGE chemistry is the cause of the 'browning' you see when you roast a chicken or make toast, but the same 'browning' chemistry is at work in your body every day of your life. In your arteries. In your kidneys. In your heart, your eyes, your skin, your nerves. In every cell, the sugar that your body uses for fuel is busily at work at this very moment, caramelizing your body through exactly the same chemical processes that caramelize onions or peanut brittle."
There are also many implications of the change of senses in aging. Vision decreases...hearing becomes less acute....normal responses decrease.
There are many myths about aging...learn what actually works

Home treatment for kennel cough, Kennel cough treatment
Kennel cough falls under the area of upper respiratory infections or 'colds' or 'tracheobronchitis'. The upper respiratory tract, which includes the nose, throat, (pharnyx), voice box (larynx),tracea (windpipe) and upper bronchi (largest air vessels leading into the lungs) is one of the easiest enteries into the animal's body.
Virus, baceria, etc can dry out and masquerade as dust. Dried secretions, scabs and the like, break down into tiny particles and can be inhaled in the air. All of this leads to pathways for infection for your pet.
There are several causes of coughing associated with tracheobronchitis, all of which get lumped under the general name 'kennel cough' at times. So it is possible for a dog to get kennel cough from two or three different causes in one lifetime. In addition to that, the most common cause of tracheobronchitis in dogs is probably Bordetella bronchiseptica infection, a bacterial infection...or it can be caused by various virus.
Immunity to this infection is not long lasting even after having the illness. Immunity probably lasts 6 to 12 months in most dogs and when it wears out they can get the infection again.
That is why its not only important to treat the problem, but also build their immune system back up to defend against re-infection.

Nutrition, Health Supplements and Cholesterol
It's pretty common knowledge now that diet alone will not do the whole job, and there is no mystery to that. Our biochemistry or how we metabolize and use elements from our food is the key...and the MAIN key to how our bodies function...become ill or not.
The famous Framingham study showed us that people with low cholesterol levels ..still had heart attacks and some with very high levels did not...very confusing.
Recently science is starting to unveil critical information about the various steps in biochemical pathways within our cells which are the true regulators of cholesterol and heart health.

How to Keep Insulin Resistance Low
Particularly now, as the "Babyboomers" enter their mid fifties, having the income to eat and live well, although mostly not clinically "well", we are experiencing at the practitioner level - more and more of not truly diabetes but people dangerously near the edge.
Improving insulin resistance in diabetes 2 and those very close is completely manageable by the patient and their practitioner without medication.
New information on a hormone-like protein leptin has given us another tool to work with.
Knowledge of what foods stimulate secretion of the leptin hormone and the relationship of leptin and insulin gives every person a valuable edge on their health and prevention of further disease like cardiovascular problems.

A Prescription for Trouble
This is link to a "say it like it is" ariticle on the safety of prescription drugs.
As Dr. Avorn writes..we naturally think that there are governing commitees that check that drugs are safe before they are released to the publics....and it just isn't so.
Most are tested by the drug company who made them in the first place ..now how safe is that?
And none are checked for long term usage...often very strong negative side effects don't occur until one has been taking the drug for some time.
Have you ever heard of drugs being tested together with other medications? No, of course not ...and yet how many people do you know of taking 4, 5, or 6 different prescriptions?

Flu Vaccine..Risks..Benefits
These vaccines are preserved with thimerosal, a mercury derived preservative.
At the moment, all injections with this product in it are under consideration as a
possible causal factor in the current upsurge of autism amongst children. I do not
see this as an "allergic reaction to the flu or influenza shot" but a toxic reaction to a neurotoxin.
To vaccinate against flu (and childhood diseases) is in my opinion ridiculous and there are alternatives to the flu vaccinations.
There is an oral homeopathic flu vaccine...thimerosal-free made by Dolisos...
This toxin..thimerosal is injected into those most susceptible to its negative effects..older
people already with alzheimer's or on their way to it...and children..particularly infants
whose immune system has not fully developed!
I did a radio show with Dr. Boyd Haley..a well known and respected mercury researcher
and he point blank told me that "They don't work!...and they are dangerously filled with mercury!"
You can listen to that and other shows at www.y2khealthanddetox.com/radio.html
